Career
Bishop's basketball journey reached a pinnacle when he was selected for the 1936 Summer Olympics held in Berlin. He was part of the American basketball team that ultimately secured the gold medal, overcoming stiff competition, including a decisive final match against player Sam Balter. During the Olympic trials, Bishop's team finished third, but he was still able to showcase his talent in three matches at the prestigious event, contributing to his team's success on an international stage.Post-Olympics, Bishop transitioned to professional basketball, playing for the Safeways team during the 1937-38 season and later joining the Denver Nuggets in the National Basketball League. Throughout the 1948-49 season, he averaged approximately 1.8 points per game, demonstrating his enduring passion for the sport despite limited appearances.
