High School and College Career
Binion attended Madison High School in Rochester, New York. He then played college basketball at North Carolina A&T State University from 1980 to 1984, where he established himself as one of the program’s greatest players.
During his collegiate career, he was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Year three consecutive times (1982-1984) and earned First-team All-MEAC honors in each of those seasons.
Professional Career
Selected 57th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 1984 NBA Draft, Binion began his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) with the Sarasota/Florida Stingers.
He found success in the CBA, being named league MVP in 1987 while playing for the Kansas City/Topeka Sizzlers. That same year, he made his NBA debut with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Following his brief NBA stint, Binion played professionally in Israel with Maccabi Haifa and then spent several successful seasons in Italy with Libertas Livorno, Sidis Reggio Emilia, Kleenex Pistoia, and Buckler Bologna before concluding his career in 1995.
