Career

Andersen's basketball journey began at the Australian Institute of Sport, where he honed his skills before signing with the Wollongong Hawks in the Australian National Basketball League in 1998. His talent quickly caught the eye of European teams, and he soon made the transition to Italy, joining Virtus Bologna. During his four years with Bologna, he celebrated multiple titles, showcasing his ability to compete at a high level. After the club's financial troubles, Andersen moved to Montepaschi Siena, where he continued to find success, winning the Italian Championship.

His career took him next to PBC CSKA Moscow, where he was named to the All-Euroleague First Team during the 2004-05 season. In 2008, Andersen joined FC Barcelona and added a Spanish Championship title to his accolades. He was selected by the Atlanta Hawks as the 37th pick in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft, further highlighting his potential and skill set.
