Rodney Carney
Rodney Dion Carney was born in Indiana. The 6’7” Forward spent his teens playing for the University of Memphis. He got selected by NBA in the 2006 draft by Chicago Bulls in the first round.
Carney was selected in an All-Freshman team in 2002-03 while still playing for the University of Memphis. He was part of the All-Conference USA second team in 2004-05.
Carney has shown progressive improvement in his play since being traded by the Chicago Bulls with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2006. He has, as of now, played a total of 204 games, with 1,332 points, 403 rebounds and 122 steals. Carney scored an average of 6.6 points per game in the 2006-07 season, and increasing up to 7.2 points per game in the 2008-09 season.
While playing for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2007, people saw the dawn of a star player within Carney. Allen Iverson and Chris Webber, two of the lead players of 76ers departed leaving Carney with more playing time. Thus his averages increased drastically from 3 points per game and less than 1 rebound per game to 9 points per game and 3 rebounds per game.
Carney expanded his highlights as a tough defender with each game he played. In 2008, he was traded by the 76ers to Minnesota Timberwolves.
