Erick Barkley

Erick Barkley is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association for the Portland Trail Blazers and various international leagues.

Erick Barkley was born on February 21, 1978, in Queens, New York. He stands 185 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 80 kg. He shoots right and played point guard throughout his career.

High School and College Career

Barkley attended Christ the King Regional High School in Queens, New York, before transferring to Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Maine. He was selected as a McDonald's All-American in 1998.

He then played college basketball at St. John's University from 1998 to 2000, where he earned First-team All-Big East honors in 2000 and was named to the Big East All-Rookie Team in 1999.

Professional Career

Barkley began his NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers (2000-2002).

After his NBA stint, he embarked on an extensive international career that took him across multiple countries and leagues.

He played in Greece for Peristeri (2002) and Olympia Larissa (2004-2005), with a stint at the Huntsville Flight (2003-2004) in between. In 2006, he had brief periods with Ironi Ramat Gan in Israel and Sion Hérens Basket in Switzerland.

He then played for the Indiana Alley Cats (2006-2007), followed by time with Split in Croatia (2007). The year 2008 saw him play for multiple teams: CSU Asesoft Ploiești in Romania, and both Kotwica Kołobrzeg and Basket Kwidzyn in Poland. He continued in Poland with Starogard Gdański (2008-2009) before concluding his career with the Laval Kebs in 2011.
