Mitch Richmond is a former professional basketball player from the United States of America. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1988 to 2002. Later, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014.
During his career, he was named an NBA All-Star six times and won an NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2002. He was also a member of the USA men's basketball team that won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Richmond attended Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. His collegiate journey began at Moberly Area Community College, where he scored 1,023 points from 1984 to 1986.He then transferred to Kansas State University, becoming one of the most recognizable players in school history with 1,327 points in just two years and helping guide the Wildcats to a 45-20 record with two NCAA Tournament appearances.
Professional Career
Mitchell was drafted into the NBA by the Golden State Warriors in 1988. He was a first-round pick by the Warriors.His NBA career began impressively when he won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1988-89, averaging 22.0 points per game. He became a crucial member of Golden State's "Run TMC" alongside Tim Hardaway and Chris Mullin.
His most impactful years came with the Sacramento Kings (1991-1998), where he was the team's leading scorer for seven consecutive seasons, averaging no fewer than 21.9 points per game. During this period, he made six consecutive All-Star appearances (1993-1998) and won the 1995 All-Star Game MVP in Phoenix.
