Ron Anderson is a former American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association for ten seasons. He is best known for his five-year stint with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has also played for several teams abroad.

Anderson attended Bowen High School in Chicago, Illinois. He then played college basketball for Fresno State University from 1979 to 1984.

In 1984, he was named to the First-team All-PCAA, and the year before that, he was named to the Second-team All-PCAA.

Professional Career

Anderson was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 27th overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. He played his first two seasons with the Cavaliers before being traded to the Indiana Pacers during the 1985-86 season.

Anderson's best years came with the Philadelphia 76ers from 1988 to 1993. In the 1988-89 season, he averaged a career-high 16.2 points per game and finished fourth in voting for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.

After brief stints with the New Jersey Nets and Washington Bullets in the 1993-94 season, Anderson continued his career in abroad playing for various teams until 2001.

In 1995, he was named the LNB Pro A Best Scorer. He was playing for Montpellier Basket.
