Anderson attended George Washington Carver High School of Engineering & Science in Philadelphia. He then played college basketball for Drexel University from 1984 to 1988. At Drexel, Anderson was a standout player, averaging over 19 points per game during his college career.

He led the Dragons to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1986.

In recognition of his outstanding college career at Drexel University, where he was a two-time ECC Player of the Year (1986, 1988), Anderson's No. 10 jersey was retired by the Drexel Dragons.

Professional Career

Anderson's professional basketball career spanned from 1988 to 2002, during which he played for numerous teams in the United States and Europe.

He began his career in the CBA with the Philadelphia Aces in 1988 and went on to play for the Charleston Gunners (1988–1989) and the Rapid City Thrillers (1989, 1990–1991). Anderson also had a brief stint in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs in 1989.

In 1989, Anderson took his talents to Europe, where he played for Real Madrid in Spain until 1990. He returned to the CBA, playing for the Rapid City Thrillers (1990–1991), Philadelphia Spirit (1991, 1992), and Tri-City Chinook (1991–1992, 1992–1993, 1993–1994).

During his time in the CBA, Anderson was named to the All-Rookie First Team in 1989, led the league in steals in 1994, and was selected to the All-CBA First Team the same year.

Anderson's European career continued with stints in Spain, playing for Baloncesto León (1993), CB Zaragoza (1993), CB Girona (1994), CB Murcia (1994–1995), and CB Sevilla (1995–1997).

In 1996, he was named the Spanish League MVP. Anderson then moved to Turkey, where he played for Ülkerspor from 1997 to 1999, winning the Turkish League championship in 1998. He also led the EuroLeague in steals in 1997.

Anderson finished his professional career with KK Cibona in Croatia (1999) and the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs in the USBL (2002).
