Born in Scotland, the 6’11” power forward/centre began his professional basketball career as a junior at Dunfermline Reign of the Scottish League.

Moving to the US, he attended the University of Illinois from where he was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2002. He played a total of 12 games at Memphis with 19 points and 17 rebounds and also enjoyed a short spell with the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic during the 2003-04 season.

He then signed with the Toronto Raptors the same season, playing a total of 30 games with 29 points and 50 rebounds.

Archibald also played in Spain for a number of teams and also represented Scotland at junior level and Great Britain at student level tournaments. He is a senior member of the Great Britain national team at present.
