Mark Acres is an American former professional basketball player who played six seasons in the National Basketball Association with Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets and Washington Bullets, and several seasons in European leagues. He was a McDonald's All-American and had his No. 42 jersey retired by Oral Roberts University.

Professional Career

Acres' professional career began in 1985 when he was selected 40th overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Draft. He started his professional journey in Italy with Divarese Varese in 1985, followed by a season with Mariembourg in Belgium (1986-1987).

Acres then joined the NBA, playing two seasons with the Boston Celtics (1987-1989) before spending three years with the expansion Orlando Magic (1989-1992). He had brief stints with the Houston Rockets in 1992 and the Washington Bullets in 1993.

After his NBA career, Acres played internationally again, concluding his career with Benfica in Portugal during the 1997-1998 season.
