Robert Garrett plays for the Germany national basketball team. He began his career in 1996 and till the end of 1998 was with DJK S. Oliver Wurzburg. At the beginning of the 1998-99 season, he joined Rattersdorf. During the 1999-2000 season, he again played for DJK S. Olvier Wurzburg and had statistics of 23 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game.
In 2000, he played for Dallas Mavericks in the Los Angeles Pro-Am Summer League. He returned to DJK S. Oliver Wurzburg in Germany for the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons. For the 2000-01 season, he recorded 17.1 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game. For the 2001-02 season, he recorded 15 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, 2.9 assists per game and 1.3 steals per game.

In 2007, he took part in the European Championships in Spain and recorded 3.1 points per game and 1.4 rebounds per game.
