Zach Randolph is a former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He spent a big chunk of his NBA career playing with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2004, he was named the NBA Most Improved Player and he was named an NBA All-Star twice.

Player Profile and High School and College Career

Zachary McKenley Randolph was born in Marion, Indiana in the United States on July 16, 198. He stands 206 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 113 kg. He attended Marion High School in his hometown where he was named the 2000 McDonald’s All-American MVP.

He later went on to play college basketball for Michigan State University from 2000-2001 where he was coached by Tom Izzo.

Professional Career

Randolph joined the NBA during the 2001 NBA Draft and was chosen by the Portland Trail Blazers as 19th overall. He played power forward while with Portland and spent 8 tumultuous years with the team where he endured on-court and off-court incidents. In 2004, he was named the NBA's Most Improved Player of the Year.

In June 2007, Randolph was traded to the New York Knicks where he played for a season before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, again playing with them for a season until he was traded to the most significant team of his career, the Memphis Grizzlies.

He played with the Grizzlies from 2009 to 2017. During that time, He was named an NBA All-Star twice, once in 2010 and again in 2013. He was also named to the 2011 All-NBA Third Team. When he retired from basketball in 2019, the Grizzlies would also retire his jersey number.

In July 2017, he signed with the Sacramento Kings and played with them for two seasons before he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in February 2019 but he was waived by the team soon after. He announced his retirement from the NBA in December 2019.
