Robin Lopez

Robin Lopez is an American former professional basketball player. He played center in the National Basketball Association for 16 seasons from 2008 to 2024, most recently for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Lopez was selected 15th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2008 NBA draft after playing two years of college basketball for Stanford.

Robin Byron Lopez was born on April 1, 1988, in North Hollywood, California to Heriberto Lopez, a Cuban baseball player, and Deborah Ledford, a swimmer.

He stands 216 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 127 kg. Lopez's twin brother Brook Lopez also played in the NBA.

High School and College Career

Lopez attended San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California, where he was named a McDonald's All-American in 2006.

He then enrolled at Stanford University, playing for the Cardinals from 2006 to 2008 alongside his brother Brook. As a sophomore in 2007-08, Lopez earned All-Pac-10 Defensive Team honors.

Professional Career

Lopez was drafted 15th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2008 NBA Draft. He played his first four seasons with the Suns from 2008 to 2012 before being traded to the New Orleans Hornets in 2012.

After one season in New Orleans, Lopez was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2013. Lopez then had one-year stints with the New York Knicks in 2015-16 and the Milwaukee Bucks in 2019-20. He played for the Chicago Bulls for three seasons from 2016 to 2019.

In the latter stage of his career, Lopez played for the Washington Wizards in 2020-21, Orlando Magic in 2021-22, and Cleveland Cavaliers in 2022-23 before finishing his career back with the Bucks in 2023-24.
