Released by Spurs at the end of the season, Hart signed up for the Charlotte Bobcats at the beginning of the 2004-05 season and in their first ever game, made the first ever steal for the Bobcats. Hart ended with 9.5 points per game average along with 5.0 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. At the end of the season, he was traded out to the Sacramento Kings. After a season of struggles with the Kings, he moved to the Los Angeles Clippers after being waived off by the Kings. He was traded out immediately to the Utah Jazz who were looking for a replacement PG for Deron Williams who was out for 8 games. Ronnie Price, the other backup, began playing wonderfully meaning that Hart would not get a look in and was removed from the rotation.
In 2008, Hart was traded back to the Clippers for Brevin Knight.
