Torgeir Bryn

Torgeir Bryn is a Norwegian former professional basketball player who holds the distinction of being the only Norwegian to play in the National Basketball Association. He has played for the Los Angeles Clippers and a few NBA G-Leagues.

He stands 206 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 113 kg. He shot right and played both power forward and center throughout his career.

High School and College Career

Bryn attended Oslo Technical Maritime in Oslo, Norway. He began his college career at MiraCosta Community College (1983-1984) before transferring to Texas State University (1987-1989).

Professional Career

After going undrafted in 1989, Bryn made his NBA debut with the Los Angeles Clippers. He then played for the Tulsa Fast Breakers, San Jose Jammers, and Quad City Thunder in 1989-1990.

His European career began with UA Cognac in France and CB Breogán in Spain before spending two years with the Fort Wayne Fury (1991-1993). After a stint with the Omaha Racers, he played in France for ALM Évreux Basket (1993-1994) and in Spain with CB Estudiantes (1994).

Bryn then moved to Portugal to play for Benfica (1995) before joining the Lithuanian club Zalgiris Kaunas (1995-1996). He returned to France for stints with Pau Orthez (1996-1997) and Le Mans Sarthe Basket (1997-1998).

His later career included stops in Belgium with BC Gand (1998-1999), Italy with Aurora Basket Jesi (1999), and Greece with Aris Thessaloniki (1999-2000). He concluded his career in Norway, playing for the Oslo Kings (2000-2002), Harstad Vikings (2002-2003), and after a break, Ammerud Basket (2007-2009).

Throughout his career, he wore jersey number 12 and played both power forward and center positions.
