Rick Brunson is an American former professional basketball player who played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association and various international leagues.
He later became a successful basketball coach and is currently an assistant coach for the New York Knicks.

He shot left and played point guard throughout his career. He met his wife Sandra at Temple University, where she played volleyball. Their son Jalen Brunson, currently plays for the New York Knicks.
High School and College Career
Brunson attended Salem High School in Salem, Massachusetts, where he was named McDonald’s All-American MVP in 1991. He then played college basketball at Temple University from 1991 to 1995.
Professional Career
After going undrafted in 1995, Brunson began his professional career in Australia with the Adelaide 36ers. He played in the CBA before making his NBA debut with the Portland Trail Blazers in 1997.
Throughout his career, he played for eight different NBA teams, such as the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, and the Seattle SuperSonics, and several international clubs.
Following his playing career, Brunson transitioned to coaching, serving as an assistant coach for various teams including the Denver Nuggets, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Bobcats, Minnesota Timberwolves, and currently the New York Knicks.
