Selected 13th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 1980 NBA Draft, Brown played three seasons with the Warriors before joining the Atlanta Hawks (1983-1985).He then had an extensive career in Europe, playing for several teams in Italy for teams such as - Basket Brescia, Olimpia Milano, Reyer Venezia, and Libertas Livorno. He also played in Spain for Unicaja Málaga, Real Madrid, and Tau Cerámica. And in Andorra for BC Andorra.
His European career was highlighted by winning the EuroLeague championship with Olimpia Milano in 1988.
