Bracey attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn, New York. He began his college career at Kilgore Junior College in Texas, where he excelled as a sophomore, averaging 33.4 points per game and leading all junior college scorers.He then transferred to the University of Tulsa, where he played from 1970 to 1972.
At Tulsa, Bracey averaged 21.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game over his two-year career. He was named to the First-team All-Missouri Valley Conference and earned honorable mention All-American honors as a senior.
Professional Career
Bracey was selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round (21st overall) of the 1972 NBA Draft.He played two seasons with the Hawks from 1972 to 1974, with his best season coming in 1973-74 when he averaged 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.
In 1974, Bracey joined the Golden State Warriors, where he played a supporting role during the 1974-75 season. He was part of the Warriors team that won the NBA Championship in 1975.
In 2000, Bracey was inducted into the Tulsa University Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding college career.
