Larry Hughes is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association from 1998 to 2012. He has played with different teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Orlando Magic.

High School and College Career
He attended Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1997, he was named Mr. Show Me Basketball. He was also named to the Second-team Parade All-American and a McDonald’s All-American in 1997.Later, he attended the Saint Louis University from 1997 to 1998. In 1998, he was named the USBWA National Freshman of the Year.
Professional Career
He turned pro during the 1998 NBA Draft, selected in the 1st round as the 8th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was with the 76ers from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2002, he played for the Golden State Warriors, and from 2002 to 2005, he played for the Washington Wizards. In 2005, he led the NBA in steals.From 2005 to 2008, he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In that time, he was named the NBA All-Defensive First Team. From 2008 to 2009, he was with the Chicago Bulls, and from 2009 to 2010, he played for the New York Knicks.
In 2010, he signed for the Charlotte Bobcats. Then from 2011 to 2012, he was with the Orlando Magic. He retired in 2012.
