Walter Bond is an American former professional basketball player who played three seasons in the National Basketball Association despite going undrafted. NBA teams he has played for included the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, and Utah Jazz.

After going undrafted in the 1991 NBA Draft, Bond began his professional career with the Wichita Falls Texans of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). His performance earned him a spot on the CBA All-Rookie Team in 1992.

Bond made NBA history when he signed with the Dallas Mavericks, becoming the first undrafted rookie to start a season opener.

He made his NBA debut on November 7, 1992.

Bond later played for the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons. In total, he appeared in 153 regular-season NBA games.

After his NBA career, Bond played professionally in various leagues, including the CBA and overseas in Greece, Italy, and Germany. His best CBA season came in 1994-95 when he averaged 24 points per game for the Chicago Rockers.
