Blount attended Monrovia High School in his hometown before moving on to Santa Ana College.

At Santa Ana, he led the Dons to back-to-back State Championships in 1990 and 1991 and was named National JC Player of the Year in 1991. He was also co-MVP of the Orange Empire Conference and state tournament MVP before transferring to the University of Cincinnati.

At Cincinnati, Blount helped the Bearcats reach the NCAA Final Four in 1992 and the Elite Eight in 1993, establishing himself as one of the top big men in college basketball.

Professional Career

Blount was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 1993 NBA Draft. He played for seven NBA teams over eleven seasons, including two stints with the Bulls as well as time with the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Toronto Raptors.

He played in 644 regular-season NBA games before retiring in 2004.
