Mookie Blaylock is a former professional basketball player from the United States of America who played in the National Basketball Association for 13 seasons from 1989 to 2002. He played for the New Jersey Nets, Atlanta Hawks, and the Golden State Warriors.

His twin sons Daron and Zack played college football. In 2013, he was in a car accident that had him placed on life support. His condition later improved.

High School and College Career
Blaylock attended Garland High School in his hometown. He then played junior college basketball at Midland College, where he earned NJCAA All-American honors in 1987.
Blaylock transferred to the University of Oklahoma, playing for the Sooners from 1987 to 1989. In 1988, he helped lead Oklahoma to the NCAA championship game.
Professional Career
Blaylock was selected by the New Jersey Nets with the 12th overall pick in the 1989 NBA draft. He played his first three seasons with the Nets from 1989 to 1992.
In 1992, Blaylock was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, where he had his best years. He played seven seasons in Atlanta from 1992 to 1999, earning NBA All-Defensive First Team honors in 1994 and 1995 and NBA All-Defensive Second Team recognition four times (1996–1999).
Blaylock led the NBA in steals per game in 1996–97 (2.7) and 1997–98 (2.6). He also made his only NBA All-Star appearance in 1994.
Blaylock finished his career playing three seasons with the Golden State Warriors from 1999 to 2002.
