Gene Anderson was an American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball League, a precursor to the National Basketball Association. He spent most of his professional career with the Akron Goodyear Wingfoots.

Anderson attended Franklin High School in Franklin, Indiana. He then played college basketball for Purdue University from 1936 to 1939.
Professional Career
Anderson began his professional career with the Akron Goodyear Wingfoots in the National Basketball League in 1938. He played for the Wingfoots until 1942, during which time the team was one of the strongest in the league.
In the 1942-43 season, Anderson played for the Akron Collegians.
After his basketball career, Anderson served in the United States Navy during World War II.
