Vernon Maxwell is a former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He is a two-time NBA Champion while he played with the Houston Rockets.

Vernon Maxwell was born on September 12, 1965, in Gainesville, Florida in the United States of America. He stands 193 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 86 kg. He shot right-handed and he was a shooting guard and point guard.

As a player, he was involved in a number of altercations including a brawl that happened in 2000.

High School and College Career

He attended the Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida. In 1984, he was named Florida Mr. Basketball. Later, he attended the University of Florida and he was there from 1984 to 1988.

Professional Career

Maxwell turned pro in 1988 and was selected in the NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. From 1988 to 1990, he played for the San Antonio Spurs. Then from 1990 to 1995, he played for the Houston Rockets. In 1994 and 1995, he became an NBA Champion.

After he left the Rockets, he played for the San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, Sacramento Kings, Seattle Supersonics, and the Dallas Mavericks. He retired in 2001.
