While in college, he was named to the First-team All-Pac-10 from 1987 to 1989. In 1986, he was also named to the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year.

Professional Career

Richardson turned pro in 1989 and was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA Draft, he was the 10th overall pick.

In 1990, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In 1992, he signed with the Indiana Pacers and was there from 1992 to 1994. From 1994 to 1999, he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. He left the NBA in 1999.

From 1999 to 2000, he played in Italy for the Adecco Milano before finally retiring from the NBA. In 2017, he started as an Assistant Coach for the College of the Desert Community College.
