Benoit Benjamin

Benoit Benjamin is a former American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association for 15 seasons. He has played with the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Toronto Raptors, to name a few.

He spent the first six years of his career with the Los Angeles Clippers, the same team that drafted him into the league.

High School and College Career

Benjamin attended Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana. He then played college basketball for Creighton University from 1981 to 1985.

In 1982, he was named a McDonald’s All-American. In college, he was also named to the 1982 First-team Parade All-American and the 1985 Third-team All-American.

Professional Career

Benjamin was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 3rd overall pick in the 1985 NBA Draft. He spent his first six seasons in the NBA with the Clippers.

Throughout his career, Benjamin played for nine different NBA teams. Other teams he played for including the Seattle SuperSonics, Los Angeles Lakers, New Jersey Nets, Vancouver Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Toronto Raptors.

After his NBA career, Benjamin briefly played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Yakima Sun Kings and Grand Rapids Hoops.

The last team he played for was the Al Riyadi Beirut in Lebanon.
