Later, he committed to play for the University of Illinois from 2021 to 2022 before transferring to Santa Clara University. He was there from 2022 to 2023. In 2023, he was named the WCC Newcomer of the Year. He was also that year’s WCC co-Player of the Year.
Professional Career
He turned pro in 2023 and was selected in the 1st round of the 2023 NBA Draft, chosen 19th overall by the Golden State Warriors.
Golden State signed Podziemski to a contract in July 2023. In addition to Golden State, he also played for their NBA G League team, the Santa Cruz Warriors for a time in 2023.
