His parents are Jeffrey Dowtin Sr. and Lesa Dowtin. He has a sister named Jeleisa.
High School and College Career
Dowtin attended St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C. He was named to the 2015–16 Washington Post All-Met Second Team while also earning All-DCSAA and All-WCAC honors. Dowtin played AAU basketball for Team Takeover (DC).
Dowtin played college basketball for the University of Rhode Island from 2016 to 2020.
As a senior, he was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Third Team. He helped lead Rhode Island to two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018.
Professional Career
After going undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft, Dowtin signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Orlando Magic in December 2020 but was waived the same day.
In January 2021, he joined the Lakeland Magic of the NBA G League. Dowtin played 15 games for Lakeland. He was part of the team that won the 2021 G League championship.
Later, Dowtin signed a 10-day contract with the Golden State Warriors in May 2021. He appeared in 4 games, averaging 1.8 points in 6.0 minutes. Dowtin also had a brief stint with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League.
In 2022, Dowtin had short stays with the Milwaukee Bucks, Wisconsin Herd, Lakeland Magic, and Orlando Magic. He then signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors in July 2022.
Dowtin split the 2022-23 season between the Raptors and their G League affiliate, the Raptors 905.
In 2023, Dowtin joined the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League. He signed a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in March 2024 and was later signed for the remainder of the season. As of June 2024, Dowtin remains with the 76ers.
