Becker was selected in the third round of the 1964 NBA Draft by the St. Louis Hawks.

He began his professional career in 1967 in the ABA. He played for the Houston Mavericks from 1967 to 1969, the Indiana Pacers from 1969 to 1971, and the Denver Rockets in 1971–1972. Later, he played for the New York Nets in 1972 and the Dallas Chaparrals in 1972.

Becker was an ABA All-Star in 1968 and 1972 and won an ABA Championship with the Indiana Pacers in 1970.
