High School and College Career

He attended Shadow Mountain High School and he helped them win an Arizona State Championship. In 1996, he was named Mr. Basketball USA. We later went on to attend the University of Arizona and played collegiate basketball with them from 1996 to 1998.

While in college, he was named the 1997 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. In the same year, he helped lead his team to win the NCAA Championship. He was also named the 1998 Pac-10 Player of the Year.

Professional Career

He was drafted into the NBA during the 1998 draft and was selected by the Vancouver Grizzlies as the 2nd overall pick in the first round. In his first year with Vancouver, he was named to the 1999 NBA All-Rookie First Team.

In 2001, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings and he played with the Kings through to 2008. He suffered from injuries during the 2002-2003 season but managed to bounce back in the 2003-2004 season.

In 2008, he was acquired by the Atlanta Hawks and he played with them through to 2011. He was traded to the Washington Wizards in 2011. In the same year, he signed with the Miami Heat before eventually settling with the New York Knicks after the NBA Lockout. While with the Nicks, he played alongside Jeremy Lin during the Linsanity period. His final season in the NBA was the 2011-2012 season.

In 2013, he was hired as the assistant coach for Shadow Mountain High School and in 2014, he took on the role of head coach. In 2019, he moved to coach Hillcrest Prep.
