Professional Career

In 1974, he joined the NBA and was picked 12th overall in the first round by the Los Angeles Lakers. He only played for the Lakers for a season and moved to play for the Milwaukee Bucks the following year.

In his playing career with the Bucks, he was named an NBA All-Star, in 1976 and again in 1978. In his first year with the team, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He retired in 1983 after playing for 10 years in the NBA.

In 1984, he was hired as an assistant coach for Princeton University. From 1986-1993, he returned to the NBA and was an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers. From 1993 to 2002, he was an assistant coach for four teams in the NBA, the Atlanta Hawks, Vancouver Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets, and the Golden State Warriors. He was also the interim coach for the Warriors in the 2001-2002 season.

From 2004 to 2007, he coached the Indiana Fever in the WNBA. He took time off coaching after that in 2012, he became the assistant coach for the Charlotte Bobcats.
