Larry Kenon is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He also played in the American Basketball Association. He is a three-time ABA All-Star and a two-time NBA All-Star. In 1974, he was part of the New York Nets team that won the ABA Championship.

He attended Ullman High School in Birmingham, Alabama. For college, he initially attended Amarillo College from 1970 to 1972. Later he moved to play for the University of Memphis from 1972 to 1973. While in college, he was named the MVC Player of the Year. The Memphis Tigers later retired his Jersey number.

Professional Career

He started his professional career playing in the ABA with the Memphis Tams. In the same year, he was also drafted into the NBA by the Detroit Pistons. After the New York Nets secured his draft rights, he started playing for the team in 1973. In 1974, he was named to the ABA All-Rookie First Team. In the same year, he became an ABA Champion and he was also named the ABA All-Star for the first time.

In 1975, he moved to play for the San Antonio Spurs. He was named an ABA All-Star two more times while he was with the Spurs. He enjoyed a close friendship with George Gervin and they were teammates during the ABA-NBA Merger.

In 1980 Kenon signed with the Chicago Bulls and he played with the team through to 1982. For the 1982-1983 season, he played with the Golden State Warriors. He signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1983.

For the 1984-1985 season, he played in the Continental Basketball League for the Wyoming Wildcatters.
