Rodney McGruder

Rodney McGruder is a professional basketball player from the United States of America. He used to play in the National Basketball Association with the Detroit Pistons, and the then-NBA D-League.

Rodney Christian McGruder was born on July 29, 1991, in Landover, Maryland in the United States of America. He stands 193 cm and his weight was last listed at 93 kg. He is a Shooting Guard and he shoots right-handed.

High School and College Career

He attended Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. before transferring to the Arlington Country Day High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Later, he committed to play college basketball for Kansas State University and was there from 2009 to 2013.

In 2013, he was named to the First-team All-Big 12. He was also an AP honorable mention All-American that year.

Professional Career

McGruder went undrafted during the 2013 NBA Draft. After the draft, he went abroad to play for a season with the Atomerőmű SE in Hungary. Later, in 2014 he returned to the United States to play in what is now the NBA G League for the Maine Red Claws.

From 2015 to 2016, he played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and in 2016, he helped lead the team to win the NBA D-League Championship. The achievement helped him sky with the main team, the Miami Heat.

From 2019 to 2020, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers. Then from 2020 to 2023, he was a part of the Detroit Pistons.

In 2023, he once again started playing abroad, this time for EA& Emporio Armani Milan.
