Metu turned pro in 2018 and was the 2nd round pick (49th overall) during the 2018 NBA Draft, selected by the San Antonio Spurs.He played for the Spurs from 2018 to 2020. At that time, he was also named to the Austin Spurs in the NBA G League. Then in 2020, he signed with the Sacramento Kings.
In 2023, he signed with the Phoenix Suns. Then in 2024, he signed with the Detroit Pistons.
