Bismack Biyombo

Bismack Biyombo is a Congolese professional basketball player. He plays in the National Basketball Association for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has also played for the Charlotte Bobcats / Hornets, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, and the Phoenix Suns.

Player Profile and Personal Life

Bismack Biyombo Sumba was born on August 28, 1992, in Lubumbashi, Zaire (now DR Congo). He stands 203 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 115 kg. He is a Center and shoots right-handed.

He started playing basketball at a young age and was discovered when he was sixteen by Coach Mario Palma in a match in Yemen. He was later offered a chance to play basketball in Spain.

Early Career

He spent his early career in Europe and in 2009, he signed with Fuenlabrada-Getafe Madrid. From 2009 to 2011, he played for CB Illescas. Then in 2011, he signed with Baloncesto Fuenlabrada.

NBA Career

Biyombo was selected in the 1st round of the 2011 NBA Draft, picked by the Sacramento Kings. The Kings then traded him to the Charlotte Hornets. He played with the Hornets through to 2015. Then in 2015, they traded him to the Toronto Raptors.

From 2016 to 2018, he played for the Orlando Magic. Then from 2018 to 2021, he was a part of the Charlotte Hornets team again.

They traded him to the Phoenix Suns in 2022. From 2023 to 2024 he was signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. In early 2024, he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
