Brionna Jones

Brionna Jones is an American professional basketball player for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Jones is with the Connecticut Sun. She also used to play for USK Prague of the Women’s Basketball League in the Czech Republic. In the 2017 WNBA Draft, Jones was drafted with the eighth overall pick.

Player Profile and Personal Life

Brionna Jones was born on December 18, 1995, in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Aberdeen High School and led high school to her junior year’s state championship.

Her mother was a college volleyball player at East Texas State. Her father also played basketball in college at Hartford. She has two brothers - the older one is Jarred Jones and the younger one is Jordan. She also has a younger sister named Stephanie. Jarred is also a college basketball player.

She attended the University of Maryland and was there from 2014 to 2017.

Career

In 2017, Brianna Jones was chosen by Connecticut Sun as 8th overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft. During that time, she also started playing for PBK Nadezhda Orenburg in Russia and was with them through 2019. In 2019, she also played for USK Prague.

After 2019, she focused on her career in the WNBA, and in 2021, she was named an NBA All-Star for the first time. She was also named the WNBA Most Improved Player this year and was also named to the WNBA All-Defensive Second Team.

In 2022, she was named an All-Star again and she was also named the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year.
