DeWanna Bonner, an American-Macedonian basketball player, is currently playing for WNBA Connecticut Sun. Bonner married her fellow WNBA player and former teammate Candice Dupree in November 2014. In July 2017, the two had their twin daughters.

In 2018, Bonner received her Macedonian passport, allowing her to play for Macedonia national team. In February 2021, Bonner posted on Instagram that she was in a relationship with Alyssa Thomas, a Connecticut Sun teammate. However, it was vague whether she and Dupree have separated.

Career

Bonner started her basketball career in high school where she was named McDonald’s and WBCA All-American. Bonner also participated in All-America games. She also played basketball at Auburn University where she was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

She finished her college career as one of the top rebounders at Auburn and was in the top 10 lists in every statistical category at her university. Bonner was one of three Tigers to complete their career with over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

Bonner was drafted to the WNBA in 2009 with Phoenix Mercury selecting her 5th overall. In her first season, she scored 16 points and played 26 minutes. She sat out the entire 2017-18 season due to pregnancy and would return in 2018. In February 2020, she was traded to the Connecticut Sun.
