Davis Bertans

Dāvis Bertāns is a professional basketball player who plays in the National Basketball Association. He has been playing professionally since 2007. Born in Latvia, he is nicknamed the ‘Latvian Laser’.

He has also played in Europe and was drafted into the NBA in 2011 by the Indiana Pacers. He currently plays for the Charlotte Hornets.

Player Profile and Personal Life

Betrans was born on November 12, 1992, in Valmiera, Latvia. He has an older brother Dairis Betrans who also used to play basketball professionally for the New Orleans Pelicans. He is missing part of his ring finger because of an accident in childhood.

He stands 208 cm tall and his last listed weight was 102 kg. He is a right-handed player and he plays the position of power forward.

Professional Career

From 2007 to 2008, Betrans played from ASK Kadeti. He also later went on to play for BAA Riga. In 2009, he played for both ASK Riga and Keizarmez. In 2010, he joined the Barons of the Latvian Basketball League.

He later moved on to play for the Olimpija Ljubljana. He stayed with the team from 2010 to 2012 before he moved to play for Partizan in Serbia. He also played for Saski Baskonia before he was eventually drafted into the NBA and played for the San Antonio Spurs from 2016 to 2019.

While with the Spurs, he also spent time with the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League.

He later signed with the Washington Wizards and he played with them through to 2022 before he moved to play for the Dallas Mavericks. From 2023 to 2024, he was signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then in 2024, he started playing for the Charlotte Hornets.
