High School and College Career
He attended The Woodlands College Park High School in The Woodlands, Texas. Later, he committed to play college basketball for the University of Kansas and was there from 2018 to 2019 before he transferred to the University of Houston, playing there from 2019–2021.
In 2018, he was named Texas Mr. Basketball and he also played in that year’s Nike Hoop Summit and the Jordan Brand Classic. In 2021, he was named the ACC Co-Player of the Year. He was also named to that year’s Third-team All-American – AP, USBWA, NABC, SN.
Professional Career
In 2021, he was selected in the 1st round of the 2021 NBA Draft, selected by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Later, he was traded to the New York Knicks and played for them from 2021 to 2024. In 2024, he signed with the Detroit Pistons.
