High School and College Career
Joseph went to Pickering High School, where he joined the basketball team. As a young player, he became one of the players to lead the school to the provincial championships in 2007 and 2008.
He also became his father’s assistant in coaching for Pickering.
At age 16, he transferred to Findlay Prep with Tristan Thompson. They were able to lead the school to perform in the ESPN RISE National High School Invitational championship game, leading them to defeat Oak Hill Academy. He was also included in the ESPN RISE All-Tournament Team.
Because of his outstanding performance in high school, he received many offers from state colleges. However, he decided to join the University of Texas with Thompson. As a freshman, he leads the team to enter the 2011 NCAA March Madness.
Professional Career
In 2011, he decided to join the NBA Draft and he was selected by the San Antonio Spurs, and this was the first time he got separated from Thomspon, as Thompson was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Joseph became the highest Canadian-born draftee in the NBA.
Other teams, he was affiliated with after the Spurs were Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, and Detroit Pistons. In March 2021, he signed a contract with the Pistons.
In 2023, he signed with the Golden State Warriors.
