He attended Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Later, he committed to play college basketball for San Jose State University from 2015 to 2017 and Gonzaga University from 2018 to 2019.
As a high school student, he attended Desert Vista High School and he was included as one of the honorees in the All-Arizona Division 1. Upon entering college, he committed to San Jose State University and was named Mountain West Six Man of the Year due to his contribution to the team. He posted 10.1 points with 7.3 rebounds.
As a sophomore student, he posted 17.3 points with 8.7 rebounds per game and was included in the Mountain West All-Defensive Team. In 2018, he was able to transfer to Gonzaga University and strive to become one of the best players.
He was also crowned West Coast Conference’s Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year.
Professional Career
In 2019, he was selected in the 1st round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He was the 21st overall pick of the draft - selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder. His rights were later claimed by the Memphis Grizzlies.
In 2020, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. As of early 2024, he still plays for the Grizzlies.
