Will Barton

Will Barton is a professional basketball player from the United States of America. He played in the National Basketball Association from 2012 to 2023, most recently for the Toronto Raptors.

High School and College Career

Barton attended four high schools in five years. He started at Baltimore City College for two years before reclassifying and transferring to National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Maryland to repeat his sophomore year. For his junior year, Barton enrolled at Baltimore's Lake Clifton Eastern High School. As a senior in 2009–10, he attended Brewster Academy.

Barton was rated the No. 6 player in the nation and the best shooting guard by Scout.com and ESPN.com in 2010. He was invited to play in the Jordan Brand Classic that year.

Barton played college basketball for the University of Memphis from 2010 to 2012.

In his sophomore season, Barton was named Conference USA Player of the Year. That year, he was also named to the First-team All-C-USA.

Professional Career

He was selected in the 2nd round, 40th overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, chosen by the Portland Trail Blazers.

He played for Portland from 2012 to 2015, earning the nickname "The People's Champ" from fans.

From 2015 to 2022, Barton played for the Denver Nuggets. In November 2017, he scored a career-high 37 points in a win over the Chicago Bulls.

In 2022, Barton was traded to the Washington Wizards. He played there for one season before brief stints with the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls in 2023.

In March 2024, Barton signed with Covirán Granada of the Spanish ACB league for his first experience playing in Europe.

In May 2024, he joined the Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico's Baloncesto Superior Nacional, where he currently plays.
