His brother Marcus Bazley also plays basketball and is a part of the Delaware Blue Coats in the NBA G League.

High School and College Career
Bagley III attended Corona del Sol High School in his freshman year, and he transferred to Hillcrest Prep the following year.He transferred again to Sierra Canyon School, making him ineligible to play basketball for the school according to the California Interscholastic Federation. He had only joined in his senior year, where he recorded 24.9 points per game with 10.1 rebounds.
After he graduated from high school, he entered Duke University and recorded a significant 25 points with 10 rebounds against Elon University.
He was then named the ACC Rookie of the Week. At the end of the regular season, he also bagged some awards, such as the ACC Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year. He also joined Trae Young as one of the best freshmen to make it through the All-American First Team.
Professional Career
Bagley III joined the league during the 2018 NBA Draft, where he was selected by the Sacramento Kings alongside Deandre Ayton. In July 2018, he officially signed a contract with the Kings and made his professional debut in October 2018.In October 2019, he sustained a fracture on his right thumb, and he was sidelined for 6 weeks. Just the time he came back to action, the NBA suspended the game due to Covid-19 restrictions. That year, he was also named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
In February 2022, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons. He re-signed with the Pistons in July 2022. The deal with seem him through with the Pistons through to 2025.
