Collin Sexton

Collin Sexton is a basketball player from the United States. He plays in the National Basketball Association for the Utah Jazz. He also played collegiate basketball for the University of Alabama.

Collin Darnell Sexton was born on January 4, 1999, in Marietta, Georgia. His parents are Gia and Darnell Sexton. He started playing basketball at a young age.

He stands 185 cm tall and his last listed weight is 86 kg. He is a right-handed player and he plays the position of shooting guard and point guard.

High School and College Career

Sexton attended Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia. As a junior in 2016, he helped lead Pebblebrook to the Georgia Class 6A state championship game.

He committed to play for the University of Alabama where he played under Avery Johnson. In 2017, he was named the SEC Freshman of the Year. He was also named to the Second-team All-SEC team.

In 2018, he declared that he was forgoing his three years of eligibility to play college basketball as he declared for the NBA.

Professional Career

He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2018 NBA Draft. He was their 8th overall pick in the first round. He signed with the team in July 2018 and he made his NBA debut in October.

In 2019, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. In November 2021, he suffered a torn left meniscus. It became a season-ending injury for him.

In 2022, he was traded to the Utah Jazz. As of 2024, he still plays for Utah.
