He was projected to be a higher pick but because of his earlier injury, he became their 23rd overall pick instead. He signed with the team in July of that year. He made his NBA start in November 2017.
In 2019, he won the NBA Championship along with the rest of the Raptors. He sustained a fractured finger in 2022.
