Isaiah Stewart is a professional basketball player from the United States of America. He was drafted into the National Basketball Association in 2020. Since his NBA debut in 2020, he has played for the Detroit Pistons.

Isaiah Stewart II was born on May 22, 2001, in Rochester, New York in the United States of America. He stands 203 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 113 kg. He is right-handed and he is a power forward and a center.

He grew up playing boxing and soccer. In the fifth grade, he started to focus on basketball as his height was seen as an advantage. When he was 12, he was already 183 cm tall.

High School and College Career

He attended the McQuaid Jesuit High School in his hometown of Rochester. This was a local catholic school. In his freshman year, he was named the player of the year for the Rochester City Athletic Conference.

In his junior year, he transferred to the La Lumiere School, a local college preparatory school. He moved there for their basketball program. While with La Lumiere, he was named as an honorable mention for the MaxPreps Junior All-American team.

Other honors that were credited to him while he was at La Lumiere include being named to the McDonald’s All-American team. He also played in the Nike Hoop Summit and the Jordan Brand Classic. He was also named Mr. Basketball USA.

He finished high school as a five-star recruit and was given several College offers. In January 2018, he declared to play for the University of Washington. In his freshman year, he was named to the All-Pac-12 first team.

Professional Career

He was drafted into the NBA by the Portland Trail Blazers he was chosen in the first round and he was their 16th overall pick during the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Trail Blazers later traded him to the Houston Rockets. He was later further traded to the Detroit Pistons. In December 2020, the Pistons announced that they had signed Isaiah.

In November 2021, he got into an on-court altercation with Lebron James. This led to a two-game suspension for Stewart.

As of the start of 2024, he is still on the Detroit team.
