Early Career
At age 14, Maledon was named to the National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance and he also started playing in the National Masculine 1 (NM1).In 2017, he played in the Jordan Brand Classic Global Showcase in Brooklyn.
Professional Career
He turned pro in 2017 and played for ASVEL in the LNB Pro. He was there from 2017 to 2020. In that time, he helped the team win the LNB Pro A Champions in 2019. He was also named the LNB Pro A Best Young Player and the French Cup Final MVP.In 2020, he declared for the NBA and was drafted into the league during the 2020 NBA Draft, selected by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was then traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder had them play for the Oklahoma City Blue as well.
In 2022, he signed with the Charlotte Hornets and their NBA G League team, the Greensboro Swarm. In 2023, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns.
National Career
In addition to his professional career, he also plays for France internationally as a junior and a senior player.As a junior, he joined the 2016 FIBA Under-16 European Championship in Poland, where he recorded 8.4 points with 4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Maledon also played for the same championship in the following year, and his score improved to 14.6 points with 5.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Eventually, this led them to win the championship in Montenegro.
He also debuted as a senior player for the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualification, where he only played 15 minutes. However, they were not successful in winning the championship as they lost against Finland.
