Kenyon Martin, Jr

Kenyon Martin Jr. is a professional basketball player from the United States of America. In 2020, he was drafted into the National Basketball Association by the Sacramento Kings. He also plays in the NBA G League and in 2021, he was named to the NBA G League All-Rookie Team. He currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Martin or KJ was born Kenyon Lee Martin, Jr. on January 6, 2001. KJ stands 198 centimeters and his last listed weight was 98 kilograms. He plays small forward and power forward.

He is the son of Kenyon Martin, Sr. who played in the NBA for 15 years.

High School and College Career

KJ attended several high schools including Chaminade College Preparatory and Sierra Canyon High School. While at Sierra Canyon, he got the chance to play alongside Cassius Stanley and Scotty Pippen, Jr..

Originally, KJ had committed to play college basketball for Vanderbilt. He later decided to go for postgraduate studies at IMG Academy.

Professional Career

He was drafted into the NBA during the 2020 NBA Draft. He was selected by the Sacramento Kings during the second round. He was their 52nd overall pick. The Kings later traded him to the Houston Rockets.

He signed with the Rockets in November 2020 and they placed him in their NBA G League affiliate team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He debuted in the G League in February 2021.

He was called up to play for the Rockets a few months later. He made his NBA Summer League debut in August 2021.

In 2023, he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.
