Garrison Mathews

Garrison Mathews is an American professional basketball player. He plays in the National Basketball Association and the NBA G League. He is currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks.

High School and College Career

He attended Franklin High School in Franklin, Tennessee. Later, he attended Lipscomb University and was there from 2015 to 2019.

While there, he was named the 2019 Atlanta Sun Player of the Year.

Professional Career

Mathews was undrafted during the 2019 NBA Draft, but he signed a contract with the Washington Wizards and the Capital City Go-Go, an NBA G League affiliate.

During his debut in 2019, they were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks 100-108. In December 2019, he made a career-high 28 points and won against the Miami Heat 123-105.

In 2021, he was traded to the Boston Celtics and signed a 2-way contract with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In February 2023, he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks.

Mathews was known for being available to play for the Houston Rockets’ G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Even the Rockets’ coaching staff knew how dangerous shooter Mathews is and he also could stand out when it comes to defensive acts. He is usually in charge of defenses and has a tough build to fully take care of the team.
