Udoka Azubuike

Udoka Azubuike is a professional basketball player from Nigeria. He plays in the National Basketball Association for the Phoenix Suns. He has also played for the Utah Jazz and their NBA G League affiliate team, the Salt Lake City Stars.

Udoka Timothy Azubuike was born on September 17, 1999, in Lagos, Nigeria. He stands 208 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 127 kg. He is a right-handed player. He also plays a Center.

He grew up in Lagos and moved to the United States to play high school basketball after he was scouted.

High School and College Career

He attended Potter's House Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. Later, he committed to play college basketball for the University of Kansas and was there from 2016 to 2020.

In 2016, he was named a McDonald’s All-American. In 2020, he was named the NABC Defensive Player of the Year. In addition to that, he was also named the 2020 Big 12 Player of the Year.

Professional Career

Azubuike was selected in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft, selected by the Utah Jazz. Shortly after, he signed with the Jazz. In 2021, his contract was converted to a two-way one, allowing him to play for the Salt Lake City Star in the NBA G League.

In 2023, he signed with the Phoenix Suns, and as of the start of 2024, he still plays for Phoenix.
